P E R S O N A L I T Y[/i]

Likes:

• Music; while it's a bit self explanatory, Kyler absolutely loves music. He uses it to amplify good moods or to cope with bad moods, or even just to fill the silence. He feels that there's never a bad time for music.
  
• Playing music; self taught on the drums and guitar, Ky is actually rather good. It's not his favorite thing in the world unless he's just alone in his room or with someone really special. Playing the guitar especially is much more of a personal thing to him.
  
• Singing; Ian has been known to go to open mic nights at different clubs and the like whenever he feels like it, and he's almost always singing along with the radio at work. He feels he can express himself through singing a lot more than speaking. Then, of course, there's the fact that it's his major.
  
• Going to clubs with friends; it's always one of his favorite past times. Between the drinking and the loud music and the energy in the place, there's nothing to not like about them. Plus, there's always the chance of meeting someone new.
  
• Dancing; it's part of the reason he enjoys clubs so much. He likes to dance. He's not the best at it, especially since he's a little clumsy, but he's not too terrible, either. The important thing to him, though, is that he enjoys it.
  
• People with tattoos; they always seem to have the most amazing stories to share. From drunken Spring Break stories to memorials of those lost or something important in someone's life, there's always a neat story to hear.
  
• Mtn. Dew; most definitely his favorite soda, Mtn. Dew is almost always on stock only in the fridge at home. Honestly, he is pretty sure he'd never make it through the day without at least one of these sodas.
  
• Rockstars; while the musician rock stars are always pretty amazing, that isn't what makes the list. Ian has a love affair with Rockstar Energy Drinks, especially the cola one. It is the other thing that helps him make it through the day. He's pretty much addicted to caffeine, and between the Rockstars and the Mtn. Dews, he's set for the day.
  
• Chinese food; between all the options out there, Chinese food is definitely Ky's favorite. He orders out at least once a week if not more and never really gets tired of it.
  
• The snow; living in a warm climate doesn't really do much to appeal to this love, but he does love the snow a lot. It's one of his favorite things about going to visit his parents and other family over in the Rocky Mountains. There's almost always snow there.
  
• Hot chocolate; not just for cold weather! Kyler drinks hot chocolate year round. It's his substitute for coffee, which he can't stand. Often, Ky will add a little cinnamon to his hot chocolate as well.
  
• Batman; well, anyone who spends time with Kyler can tell this one quite easily. It was his favorite cartoon and comic growing up and he's seen every movie, though "The Dark Knight" is honestly his favorite. Why exactly does he like Batman so much? He has no idea. He just does and that's enough for him.

Dislikes:

• Disney Channel; in Kyler's point of view, Disney Channel ruined everything good that there was about the classic Disney movies. It took something amazing and made it tacky and something symbolic of selling out (at least according to him).
  
• The quiet; there is nothing more unsettling to him than the quiet. It makes his skin crawl and makes him all antsy. It always feels like there's something bad going to happen if things are too quiet for too long.
  
• Having to be silent; it is one of the hardest things for him to do. Ky loves to talk, and he'll talk to anyone willing to carry on a conversation with him. He's a sweetheart, really, if not a bit silly and sarcastic, and it all comes across when he speaks. Of course, at the same time he feels he can't fully express himself all the time through talking. Talk about a dilemma.
  
• Being bored; it's one of the things that Ky absolutely hates. Boredom often leads to over thinking things and then he usually ends up all depressed, which is never a good thing. He hates being depressed, but then, what person enjoys it?
  
• Sitting still; definitely not one of his fortes. Kyler is always moving somehow. Whether it's bouncing a knee, tapping his fingers, toying with his hair, tonguing at his lip ring, moving side to side on a swivel chair or stool... the boy is practically in constant motion unless he's asleep.
  
• His clumsiness; throughout his life, Kyler has had multiple broken bones due to his clumsiness, including one incident where he walked straight into a door in high school. That had been embarrassing. Some days aren't as bad as others, but some days he's almost always dropping things or bumping into objects. He usually always has a bruise somewhere on his person because of it.
  
• Coke; despite his love for Rockstar cola, Ky hates Coke. He thinks it's the worst soft drink ever and would choose water over it. He rarely ever drinks water.
  
• Amp; it's a terrible energy drink, in his opinion, which many find surprising given his love of Mtn. Dew.
  
• Mexican food; he's yet to have a single piece of Mexican food that he actually enjoys. It all is either too spicy or too bland. He'll pass and go for the Chinese, thank you.
  
• The rain; Ian hates the rain with a passion. Not only is it dreary and depressing, but it makes his hair frizz out like none other. Even if he wanted to straighten his hair on those days, it'd be practically impossible.
  
• Lemonade; it's just gross in Kyler's opinion. It needs to not exist or something. Actually, no, it can exist, it just won't find its way into his place or he'll dump it down the sink without explanation or care. Of course, breaking out in hives because of it is never a good thing.
  
• Superman; in Kyler's opinion, Superman is the lamest superhero. He doesn't like anything to do with Superman, something he's made pretty well known to the people that have known him the longest.

Strengths:

• Music; as mentioned before, Kyler has a bit of an aptitude toward music. It's one of his lifelines for sure.
  
• Sticking to his beliefs; nobody is going to pressure him into changing what he believes in and he refuses to let anyone tell him that they're wrong. While they might not be accurate, they're his beliefs and that makes them right to him. He doesn't go around trying to change religious peoples' minds, so he feels he deserves the same respect.
  
• Being a good friend; Ky's one of the best friends to have, really. He'll do just about anything to help out a friend, even if it inconveniences him in some way. It's almost a fault, though, seeing as his own health and safety doesn't always matter to him if a friend's is at risk.
  
• Being himself; never been one to change who he is for anything, Ian refuses to be anything other than himself. If people look at him strangely, fine. If he fails, at least he tried while still being himself. If he succeeds, then the only way it'll happen is because he remained true to who he is.
  
• Seeing things through to the end; it doesn't matter if the end is good or bad, once Ky starts something, he sees it through until it's completely finished. It's just who he is. If he leaves a project unfinished, it just nags at him until he gets it done.

Weaknesses:

• Reading; Kyler, though he tries not to let it known, isn't the strongest reader due to his dyslexia. He has had a tutor to help with it throughout high school, but he still has trouble with it sometimes. It tends to frustrate him when he doesn't get things right away, either.
  
• Witnessing a fight; it tends to make him kind of retreat into himself and he tries to hide from it as much as possible. He doesn't even like fighting himself and does anything he can to try to avoid one.
  
• Stairs; ah, stairs, his mortal enemies. With his clumsiness, stairs are about the worst things. He can fall down them, he can fall up them, he can clip his elbow or hip on a corner. Really, there's no end to the ways he can injure himself on those devils. It makes his claustrophobia and dislike of elevators a bit of an inconvenience at times.
  
• Remembering names; Ian has the hardest time remembering someone's name unless it is one that is so completely unique that it's just impossible to forget. It takes him many run-ins with someone before he can even begin to correctly recall their name. It's sad, really, at times.

Fears:

• The dark; it's not an all consuming fear or anything, but he's really just not fond of the dark at all. It's been that way ever since he was a child. He has to at least have the light in the hall outside his bedroom on and the door cracked or else he can't sleep.
  
• Claustrophobic; his claustrophobia is pretty bad. Sometimes, even just riding an elevator up two or three floors is enough to make his breathing labored. He's not got some traumatic event that involves a closet or anything to blame for it, it just is. He can't even ride in a car for more than a few hours before having to get out for some air. Large groups of people around him tends to freak him out as well, though clubs never have bothered him.
  
• Doctors/hospitals; pretty much anything medical related is terrifying. He's spent a lot of his high school career in a hospital, though, so it's no wonder he doesn't like them so much.
  
• Clowns; enough said in his opinion. They're the scariest things ever and he isn't above nearly bursting into tears if he gets approached or touched by one. They freak him out that badly. Maybe he shouldn't have watched "It" when he was five.

General Description: Kyler is a bit cynical and sarcastic, two of the things he's best known for. Really, he's always got a sarcastic remark to just about anything said to him. However, he doesn't always voice it. Sometimes, he's learned, it's just best to keep those words to yourself. Really, he's one of those people that doesn't open up to others well, keeping them at arm's distance. It's nothing personal toward anyone, it's just how he is. It's almost as if he's scared of trusting someone too much too soon, which, well, is what it really is. After watching the destruction of his parents' relationship, which had been completely amazing throughout his younger years, and then his own dismissal from the family, it just became harder and harder for him to trust people.

However, once you do gain his trust, he's a really good friend to have. He cares deeply for his friends and will do just about anything to help them. Ky has been known to go over to a close friend's house at four in the morning after being woken by a phone call just because they needed someone to talk to only to turn right around and go to work a few hours later despite having not gotten more than two or three hours of sleep. His friends are more important to him than things like that because if they've proved that they're trustworthy enough to actually be that good of a friend, then he wants to do anything he can to keep the friend around. Of course, if said one of those friends were to do something to lose his trust, it's nearly impossible to get it back.

He's the type of guy that can act like a child one moment, and be completely adult the next. It is impossible to fully know what type of mood he will be in from each time you see him. He's very confident and has no problems just being himself. He likes how he is, and refuses to change for anything. The type of guy to joke around and talk with just about everyone (though that does not mean he thinks of you as a friend just because he talks to you).

He's definitely the type to hold grudges, even though it might appear that he just doesn't. It's more of a quiet thing that he keeps bottled inside, though he'd always be distant to whomever lost his trust. Ian can seem to be rather distant and cold, but really he's a good guy once you really get to know him. He tries to be funny, and sometimes he succeeds, other times falls flat. Ky can be bit childish around his closest friends or just in general when he wants to be, not caring what others think.

Overview: Kyler's home life wasn't one that he really let his few friends in on. After all, their families were all happy, so what would they know about living in a constant war zone, anyway? Ky became more and more withdrawn over the years, which was no surprise to some of his closest friends. After all, this was the same cynical kid they knew. High school was a nightmare for the boy, who refused to change his appearance or anything about himself despite how he was treated. He was firstly picked on for the way he dressed, but then when it got let out that he was in to guys? There weren't many people in his hometown who liked that. Of course, he grew up in a small, southern town and not many of them were accepting to anything or anyone that wasn't white, straight, and Christian. Unluckily for Ky, he was only one of those things.

As he got older though, the teasing from people grew less petty and more violent, and it made him glad to get out of the town after high school. He moved to a city a few hours away from home where he worked part time at a tattoo parlor while he went to classes at the community college. After Kyler took over the tattoo parlor, just after he turned 20, he became overwhelmed by the responsibility, but he loved his job anyway. It didn't take too long before certain people found out about his sexual orientation though, and he found himself under attack, again. This time, though, the shop was put under attack as well. He was locking up by himself one late night, and a few of the guys that had taken to making his life hell showed up, picking a fight with him. Kyler was always one to try to avoid fights, but he wouldn't just not fight back if struck. So he fought, and fought well, until one of the guys attacked him from behind with the aid of a knife that Ky hadn't seen before. Ky never made it to the hospital because he was just left there, though the guys that attacked him would later claim self defense.

Just having turned 21, Ky was brought to New Haven to spend his afterlife. It took some adjusting, but he found a great place to reopen a shop after another one in town closed and since then he's just been living his after life, mostly focused on his work.
