She didn’t want to get up because it was so warm in her bed and she knew it would be so cold outside. Since it was December she knew that there would be cold snow and she really didn’t have any appointments for a few hours, but had a question for Stryker and Kyler. She was going to go in and ask, if they weren’t busy they’d possibly work on it then, and if not, then she’d just work on receptionist stuff since they hadn’t gotten one yet.
She made her way towards work and lighting a cigarette on the way there. She had taken on a few more piercings in the recent week since business picked up, and Stryker was beginning to do tattoos more with Kyler, since he was pretty good with piercings already. She wasn’t sure if she wanted him to add to her sleeve, or add onto the roses that she had on her ribs. She knew that the ribs would hurt pretty bad and she still wanted to pierce afterwards, so she should go with adding onto her sleeve.
She stood outside her place of employment before taking one last drag off the cigarette and stamping it out with her heels and kicking the butt into the road. She walked in and took off her jacket before putting it over near her station and leaving her purse there as well. She looked over at Stryker and smiled before moving over to the reception desk. “Interested in doing a tattoo today?” she asked before leaning onto the table.
She heard Kyler walking towards them and turned and smiled at him. “Kyler could use it as a training session, or even a test of sorts if needed” she said before looking at Kyler. “It’ll just be something small adding to my sleeve, which seems to be easy, so it shouldn’t be too bad regardless.” she said before shrugging. She knew what she wanted and that was good at least. She also believed it to be very simple, just a few butterflies going up her arm, ending her forearm sleeve and starting her bicep sleeve in order to achieve the full sleeve that she has been planning for ages.
“Besides Kyler, It’s the safest thing to do, if he fucks it up, it’s only on me, not a customer” she said before shrugging. “And if he wants to be adventurous maybe he can do a dermal piercing on me as well. she said before smirking and looking back at Stryker.

[/color][/style][/center] Kyler sighed inaudibly as he pinched the bridge of his nose. He was back in the office, finishing up some paperwork. He really needed a cigarette, but he would wait until someone else took a smoke break with him. He was no longer as jumpy, nor was he scared of being in the shop alone. It was just the back alley. He was not ready to be there alone. It was a bit understandable, though. It had only been a couple of weeks since the whole incident with Yony. He had gone back to work pretty immediately and tried to forget the whole thing ever happened. He was pretty good at blocking out things like that. For the most part he was okay, though. He did not like staying alone anywhere for too long, however; and, Stryker more often than not was over at his place. It was a bit... odd, but Ky did not think on that too much either. He really needed a drink. Ky would settle for another Rockstar, though. His brow rose a little as he started back to the main room of the shop only to hear his piercer ask Stryker if he felt up to doing a tattoo that day. Well, that was a bit presumptuous. It would have been in better taste to actually ask him first, before talking to Stryker. What if he said "no"? He wouldn't because he knew that Stryker knew what he was doing and the guy needed official training hours, but still. If he just wanted to be an ass, or if he had some kind of actual reason, he still could have said "no", and then Stryker would have been asked for no reason. Asking the apprentice unless they were already in a training session was just bad form. Kyler did not really comment on it, though, because it was not really an issue. He was just annoyed in general, and her presumptuous nature did not really do much to better his mood. Ky was not sure what he thought of her, to be honest. He knew she knew what she was doing when it came to piercing, and he would leave her to do some of the more risky jobs. However, he did not know what he thought of her on a less professional level. If his irritation at the moment was anything to go by, though, he would not like her very much at all. "Besides Kyler, It’s the safest thing to do, if he fucks it up, it’s only on me, not a customer." Oh, look, presumptions again. Even more annoyed. Kyler silently raised an eyebrow slightly as he got into the minifridge behind the desk there in the middle of the room, grabbing a fruit punch flavored Rockstar. "I'm pretty sure letting him ink himself is really the safest thing to do, or me," he replied. It was true, though. While Emily was an employee, she was not someone who was bound to not getting Stryker in trouble for a mistake. If it was a mistake on Stryker's self, well, that was tough shit. If it was on Kyler, like hell he was going to do anything with the guy on his tattooing license. That was stupid. So, in reality, himself and Stryker were the two safest people for the apprentice to practice on. He was not sure whether or not the girl was really just wanting to help Stryker out, or hoping for a handout ink job. That would not happen. Period. She'd be charged full price, still. Kyler himself took no discounts and paid whoever added to his ink collection, and he expected the same between all his employees. If the person doing the tattoo really wanted to do one off the books on a favor, that was fine, but that was not something he encouraged. They always deserved compensation for their talents and time, even when dealing with a co-worker. The only people Kyler personally gave free ink to were not in New Haven. They were the people that meant most to him. He might do work for Stryker for free, but that would probably be compensated in other ways, anyway. He really needed a damned cigarette. Maybe that was why he was so irritated. "He can do it if he wants. On the clock, though. That means you're paying, Emily." Technically, she would be paying him because Stryker did not have his license, but the money would go to Stryker anyway under the label of "tips". That was how Ky himself was paid for a long while. "We don't have anyone coming in for a few hours, anyway." It looked like he was waiting til much later in the day for that cigarette. Damn.

LIVE [/style] | [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=width,450,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=style, background-color: #6d6d6d;] [style=padding: 10px; text-align: justify; font-family: arial; font-size: 10px; height: 475px; overflow: auto; color: #1e1e1e;]Nine 'o-fucking clock in the god damned morning. Stryker leaned against the front counter staring at the books for that day. He had a few piercings scheduled later that day, and Kyler had a few appointments as well. As it was, he was practically falling asleep on the counter. He rarely got much sleep anymore, he had been staying with Kyler since the attack because the male didn't like being alone... and he tended to wake up several times during the night to check on the other male, and would fall asleep stroking his hair or his cheek or other some such thing. He'd already had three cups of coffee and it just wasn't working all that well. Why was he here again? Oh right, 'cause Kyler couldn't get back to sleep and figured he should just come in. Stryker didn't like leaving him alone.
He looked up as the bell announced someone coming into the shop. They weren't even technically open yet, so what the hell was- oh. It was only Emily. He let his head drop back down onto his hand as he looked at her lazily as she approached him. He yawned slightly before she was asking if he would like to do a tattoo today. "Thaaaaaat would be totally up to Kyler, Em, you know that," he stated matter-of-factly before she was telling Kyler that he could use it as a training session or something. Yeah, like he needed "training", he'd been doing tattoos on himself and his friends long before he'd ever come to New Haven. He looked over at Kyler as he made his presence known. He chuckled softly as Kyler stated that the safest thing to do was letting Stryker ink himself or ink Kyler.
Stryker was just slightly touched that Kyler trusted him enough to ink him. That could be interesting. Of course, not that he'd really actually fuck up, but the thing was, certain people tended to annoy him and made him almost want to mess something up. He sent a glance towards Kyler as he told Emily that he could do the tattoo if he wanted by it would be on the clock so that Emily had to pay for it. He smirked slightly, laughing softly before looking back over at Emily. "Tell you what, I'm going to go have a cigarette. I'll think about it when I get back, kay?" he asked, getting up from his position and lightly touching Kyler's shoulder. "Hey, Ky... wanna go out? I could use a smoke," he stated. He'd noticed how the other male was getting just a little twitchy, and knew Kyler didn't like going out by himself anymore.
He pulled his cigarettes from the pocket on the front of his shirt and stepped outside. It was just a bit chilly, so he hung back against the wall to keep out of the wind. Raising a hand, he blocked said wind with his hand so that he could light his cigarette with the other. Raising his fingers, he gripped the cigarette with his two first fingers and inhaled. After an exhalation, he pulled the cylindrical object from his lips and looked at the other male, blowing the smoke out of the way of either of their breathing bubbles. "You doin' alright, Ky?" he asked simply, pulling the other male towards himself to keep the other out of the wind as well. He himself didn't like this alley much anymore. He could understand why Kyler didn't like it. It didn't take the two of them long to finish their cigarettes, Stryker waited for Kyler to finish his as he threw his own to the ground and crushed it out with his boot.
Wrapping an arm around the other to move back inside, he headed back out front and looked around towards Emily. "Now... what is it exactly that you want added to your sleeve?" he asked, arching an eyebrow as he went over to his station to grab his small sketch pad. He liked to draw things out before he actually put it into ink on someone. While he didn't always use transfer paper, he did like to make sure that the design was exactly what the customer wanted. He didn't want someone getting pissed off because he shaded the wrong portion or had the damn thing turned the wrong way. Always best to put it on paper first.

Some days early mornings are killer.” she said before looking at Kyler. “Sorry Kyler, if he said he wasn’t up to it, then I wouldn’t have gone to the back room to bug you, and would start getting ready for my piercings that are later and then doing anything you needed me to do.” She said. She knew that he had been rather reclusive lately, being in the backroom, and having taken a few days off earlier in the week. She knew it wasn’t her place to pry, and thus didn’t want to disturb him in the backroom.
Emily nodded when Kyler commented that it’d be safer for Stryker to tattoo himself or Kyler, and of course that was true, it was like that when she went through her apprenticeship. She pierced her mentor and herself, although piercing yourself is rather difficult. After her mentor believed that she was ready she moved up to piercing the others in the shop because there was an unspoken truce that no one would turn them in if something went wrong, and she carried that unspoken truce with herself in every place she worked. Besides, she didn’t hate Kyler or Stryker to ever want to get them in trouble, and she respected both of them for being able to do something she couldn’t. Their art was beautiful, both in their own way.
Emily nodded and smiled when he said that he could do it on the clock. “I didn’t expect anything less than having to pay. It’s not an issue.” she said before looking at Stryker and nodding when he said that he was going to have a cigarette and would think about it while he was out there. She checked her appointment book and didn’t see an appointment until 12:30, leaving her three and a half hours to get ready, but she hoped that the person would come in slightly early since they hadn’t fully decided on what they wanted. She went over to her station and took one of the piercing needles out of the drawer at her desk and put it on top of a towel that had already been cleaned and then put a marker next to it. Her station wasn’t bad to set up compared to the tattooing locations. They needed the ink, the tattoo gun, and anything else they were using for that tattoo. Including the paper towels to wipe off the excess ink and blood, and the cleaning solutions for the end, along with the materials used to cover the tattoo during the healing process.
She moved back to the front desk and leaned against it. She wasn’t sure where Ryan was, but he was probably coming in later instead of nine in the morning. It was relatively early, since they weren’t even open yet, but of course there were things to do before appointments. She looked up when she heard Stryker speaking to her before nodding. “I’m looking to connect the lower sleeve to what will soon be the upper part of it. I was thinking butterflies and possibly something to make it mesh together so that the ‘younger’ portion of my tattoo that I have now won’t look out of place with the upper portion which will be my ‘older’ part of my life” she said trying to explain it best she could. Her forearm was filled with pokemon that were her favorite, and other little things that reminded her of her childhood, and she wanted to use butterflies to represent the change to adulthood, or as far as her body would reach into adulthood, but her mind would still mature, and she’d still have to get the rest of the tattoo, but she was sure that it wouldn’t be an issue when it came to finding artists, since there were two amazing artists right here in this shop, it’d be more of finding ideas that would mesh together.

[/color][/style][/center] Kyler raised a brow when she said that she would have rather made sure that Stryker was up for it first. Obviously, she missed the whole point. There was very little professionalisim in the entire thing; but, still, the first step should have been to ask him before asking Stryker. Because, even if Stryker was up for it, that did not guarentee that Kyler would have given the okay, and then she would have gotten the guy's interest or hopes up for nothing. Kyler wasn't that big of an asshole, but if he did not get in a better mood soon, that was likely to change. He could blame it on the lack of caffeine, but honestly, it was more like the lack of nicotine. He needed that badly. It was rather sad how dependent he was on something so small; but, whatever. "Mmm..." was all that he offered in reply, but everything from his body language to the expression on his face showed that he was clearly not amused. Of course, that still could have simply been the lack of nicotine in his system. Ky nodded a little when Stryker asked him if he wanted to head out back. The shop owner grabbed his jacket and tugged it on before following Stryker out back. He would never be out there by himself, and Stryker was one of the very few people who knew why. He hated that he let something like that interfere with his everyday life, but it was not just something he could shake off, no matter how hard he tried. Kyler pushed aside those thoughts, though, and simply focused on the cigarette. It definitely helped him feel a lot better; but, he was still annoyed at Emily. Maybe it was just her in general he was annoyed with. Who knew? He did not pretend to be friends with all his employees. Some of them were just that, employees.
He jumped a little as he was startled out of his thoughts by Stryker pulling him closer, but he did not fight the action. "You doin' alright, Ky?" Kyler flicked his hair out of his eyes and nodded a little before taking a slow drag off his own cigarette. "Mmhmm," he replied, nodding once again. "Yeah, I'm fine." He was better than he had been even just a few days before, but he was definitely not what he would consider okay again. That would take a lot more time, a lot more than had passed. That, or he had to find a way to completely forget what had happened. He still felt bad about Stryker's nose, even though it wasn't his fault. He felt like it kind of was in a twisted way, though he was not going to talk about that. It was too close to talking about what had happened, and Kyler had not done that at all. He did not want to.
Kyler sighed inaudibly when he finished his cigarette and dropped it to the ground before stepping on the remnants, flicking his hair back out of his eyes. "Ready to head in?" he said softly before following Stryker inside. He shrugged off his jacket once they actually got back inside, and draped it over one of the chairs while heading over to the front desk as Stryker talked with Emily. He grabbed an energy drink out of the fridge and started to work on the ever-abundant paperwork that was involved with running your own business. There was a work order he had to follow up on for the guys that came in to fix the light fixture that would burn out bulbs in only a day or two. He flicked his hair out of his eyes and signed what needed to be signed, arching a brow as he looked over to Emily after she was done explaining what she wanted. "So... you want him to come up with a connecting piece... to a piece that doesn't exist yet? That's... pretty damn difficult for everyone if you know exactly which areas are off limits because of the placement of the other piece," he commented, leaning back in his chair with a slight stretch. Really, it was difficult enough to mesh together pieces that did not seem to have any connection (see: Kyler's own arm), but to ask for a connecting piece to something that did not exist? That was asking for a level of anticipation that was hard to do unless you were having the same person design and plan the entire thing. That was a different scenario. Even then, though, the connecting piece usually came last. Kyler did not even try to have someone think up a good way to connect his pieces until he was sure he had all the separate ones that he wanted. It would be a waste of time and energy otherwise, and then would be a disappointment if the connecting piece covered an area he might have wanted something else. "I'd suggest getting every piece you want on your arm done first and then worry about connecting it all. Otherwise, the possibility of it being what you actually want is going to dwindle by a lot." Kyler had seen enough people who rushed into sleeve work end up with something they did not like. That was why Kyler generally asked people a few times just while setting up if they were totally sure, in one form of the question or another so that it did not seem like he was pressuring or anything.
