It was another Friday night, and Caitlyn was sitting in her apartment, reading, with her dog, Cosabella, laying beside her. Caitlyn sighed, and closed her book, startling Cosabella. What was she doing? It was Friday night, and she was here, reading? Unacceptable! Cosabella looked at the girl as Caitlyn got out a party outifit, and changed out of her sweats and t-shirt (despite it being being December, but her apartment had heat, of course). After looking over herself in the mirrior that she had behind her bedroom door, she twirled around to show Cosabella, who barked, and Caitlyn smiled at her. "I'll take that as yes for the outfit."

[/color] She grabbed her purse, and kissed the top of Cosabella's head. "Be good, and I'll be home later."[/color] She treated Cosabella as her child, but who didn't when they had an animal to take care of?

As she walked out into the chilly night, she wished Madison was with her. She and Madison had just re-united (they ran into each other at Victoria's Secret, which was odd), and Caitlyn couldn't be any happier to see her best friend. But, unforunately, Madison had picked up an late shift at Old Navy's, so Caitlyn was on her own for the night. Caitlyn bit her lower lip as shops, signs with blink lights, and people walked past her, as she thought of what to do. Maybe staying at home with Cosabella was the best option after all. Suddenly, her legs lured her to Dream On, the local karaoke place. Caitlyn hadn't been inside, not since she landed in New Haven. She saw several people walk in, and she thought maybe she could check it out, since she couldn't think of anything else to do on a Friday night. Walking in, noise errupted in her ears, and looked around. People were drinking, and a person was onstage, singing. Caitlyn made her way towards the bar, securing a stool.

Licking her lips, she suddenly felt thirsty. Water wasn't going to cut it this time, but something stronger. Maybe her signature drink, which a Coke with a shot of volka in it. She would always have it all the time when she was alive. "Can I have something to drink?"[/color] she asked to no one in particular. Now she felt like a dork, and really wished Madison was here.

He had a busboy and the bartender call in tonight, something going around, he guessed. So that put him on bartending and his busers working an extra zone. The two he had split the zone between them easily though, but occasionally, he would run something over to the tables, like a drink or something of that nature. Most of the crowd right now were the younger sets. Those that couldn't really do much at Icon except drink gingerale or water and eat peanuts and dance. Dream On was more... friendly to those who were under the alcoholic-drinking age. He moved back to the bar at this point, a white apron tied around his waist as he lifted up the piece of the bar which restricted access to employee's only and stepped back behind the bar. It would appear that there was actually someone waiting at the bar. He moved forward towards the young girl, leaning onto the bartop easily, resting his weight on one elbow. "Sorry for the wait, I had a couple of guys call in tonight, so I'm pulling double duty," he apologized, offering a small smile to the girl who looked to be just a bit younger than he himself was Physically, anyway. He tilted his head slightly as he watched her. "So what can I get for you?" he asked evenly, grabbing hold of his towel and wiping down a small spot near the girl that looked wet from where he'd given someone else a drink previously. If she wanted anything alcoholic, he would have to ask for her identification though. In New Haven, everyone had an ID which told people how old they were when they'd died and how long they'd been in New Haven. Of course, asking for ID was a common thing at Dream On, because you'd get in people who looked like they were 15 years old and were actually in their thirties. It was disconcerting, though something he was growing used to. Rather like seeing the exact same reflection in the mirror every morning. Not a damn thing changed except that his hair was still growing. His hair was longer now, shaggy enough to sometimes hang into his eyes. When he'd died, though, it had been cut short in the style of the Marines. Hell, when he'd gotten here, he'd even still been in his damn uniform. It was back home... hanging in his closet. He had personally repaired the damage from where he'd been hit with that bullet and scrubbed the blood from it. He still looked at it from time to time. Sure, he might have been a little morbid but... it was something. As it was, he still wore his dog tags, and the man who had been his Reaper had actually gone to the mortal world and retrieved a few things which had been sent to his father. Not that his father would miss them. He'd put them in the damn attic, after all... including the wounded warrior medallion he wore... and the purple cross that was tucked in a dark walnut case lined with velvet back at his condo. He looked back at the girl and shook his head slightly. "My bad. Zoned off there, I guess for a sec. What was it that you said I could get for you?" he asked. What was wrong with him? He didn't need to be getting sucked into that kind of shit right now. Geeze. He had a job to do.

She was so focused on being such a dork, that when someone spoke, she jumped a few feet (which was hard, considering what she was wearing). "Oh, hey! It's okay. Um, I'll just some water."

[/color] So much for a drink tonight, but she thought maybe she play it safe, since at a place like this, they wouldn't offer her a drink like that, even if when she was alive, no one looked at her twice before giving her the drink in the first place. Plus, going home drunk would definately be a bad idea. She didn't want to scare Cosabella, who never saw her drunk before, and she probably shouldn't start now.

The guy left, and Caitlyn was left to ponder her thoughts. She twirled around to get her surroundings. Like stated before, Caitlyn had never been in Dream On, and Madison had never mentioned it to her. This is a sign that she should explore New Havens more besides the park, school, and the mall. But, you have to admit: Dream On was a cool place, despite it being her first time. Maybe Madison and her should come here sometime to hang out. It looked like some-place where they would hang, considering the bars in Helena weren't excately karakoe ones like Dream On, and there were full of creeps, too. But, here, it didn't look like the people were full of creeps, and the guy working behind the bar wasn't creepy, either, but looked rather familiar. Unless Madison told her about him, which is unlikely, since it was impossible that the two girls didn't keep secrets from each other.

Caitlyn twirled around to face the guy again, and she frowned slightly when she realized that he wasn't saying anything, or didn't move. Oh my god, did I know that he was there? Or, rather, still there? Caitlyn wondered, worried. She thought he had left, so that made her feel bad that she turned her back on him while he was still behind her. But, then, he spoke, and Caitlyn gave him a small smile. "It's okay. I'll have a glass of water."[/color] she said.
