General Description: When he was alive, Nix was a spoiled little rich boy. He was used to getting everything that he wanted right when he wanted it. He was an only child, and didn't take quarter when it came to something that he liked, which is why he knew early on that he would be doing something that he wanted to do and not running his father's stupid company the way that his father wanted him to do. He fell in love with one of his school mates, and when his boyfriend was sent away to a boarding school, he did all he could to follow him. Even now, Nix holds to those core traits, he is exceptionally loyal to those that he loves and would do absolutely anything in the world for them.

Overview: One might think that growing up with rich parents might have been the best thing in the entire world, but not for Phoenix. He was raised by nannies, mostly, and only saw his parents when he got into trouble. Of course, the absence of his rich-bitch parents waqs what enabled Phoenix to really be able to find himself, for he was usually left to himself. On each occasion in his 'acting out' phase, his parents would, of course, simply hand him off to a 'stricter' nanny. So no matter what Phoenix seemed to do, he was unable to hold the attention of his parents.
When he was younger, and he still held the delusion that his parents would give a fuck about him, his final act of attempting to get their attention happened when he was fifteen years of age. He invited a friend over to their house after school. One of the few friends that his parents approved of due to the fact that Jack had come from a rather wealthy family as well. What they weren't expecting was to come home to find Phoenix and Jack having sex out back in the pool house with the windows open for all the world to hear. Upon telling this to Jack's parents, Jack's parents decided to send Jack away. At this point, Phoenix was beyond livid, as they were taking away his only real friend and his lover.
So rather than suffer their friends to know that their son was gay, Phoenix's parents finally just sent him away to what they would tell their friends was simply a 'boarding school'. Little did they know, that was exactly what Phoenix wanted, because that was where Jack had been sent to. So he finished out high school without a problem and he and Jack moved in together directly after graduation. After all, they were both the sole heirs to their family's wealth. But so long as they steered clear of their family's social networks, they were left alone. Their life was great, they had a beautiful house they shared with two of their other friends from school and Phoenix was even looking to adopt a child for Jack, who had always loved children and wanted to be a parent.
Unfortunately, on his way to social services to sign off on the final paperwork, Phoenix was in a car accident. When the car flipped off the road, it was sent careening over a cliff and into the pacific ocean off the coast of california. Luckily for him, Phoenix didn't survive long enough to drown. When he couldn't get out of the car before it was submurged, he flew into a panic. How would Jack get along without him? What about their new daughter that he was trying to get? Little Melody wouldn't have the family that she deserved... would they contact Jack? Would Jack get custody with just him? But his last thoughts, as the windshield cracked and burst inward under the pressure of the water was of Jack. He closed his eyes, gripping the steering wheel and prayed. He barely felt the large shard of glass pierce his throat, nearly decapitating him.
He woke in the hospital in New Haven, and was asked to become a Reaper. Once it was explained to him what New Haven was, Phoenix chose to stay in case Jack did something foolish, like try to take his own life. Jack never showed up though, and because of that, Phoenix has come to resent New Haven. Jack moved on without him, and he was stuck in New Haven forever alone. It was one thing he'd hoped he would never suffer again. His first year as a Reaper, he was given a Charge who had died in the 9/11 tragedy. It was at least something to keep his mind occupied, back when he thought Jack might come to New Haven. Even though he was given other charges after Tyler, Phoenix was never the same after that first year. He wasn't as cheerful, and seemed more sullen than before. When he could no longer take the lonliness, he decided to surround himself with happy people. That was why he opened up a bar. Drunk people tended to be happy. And those that weren't? At least they were in like-company, right?
